Getting into VC is very very difficult. This story is a case of 2 of the exact same profile of people, one with and one without operating experience getting into VC both who had worked in investment banking, but one of which got an offer from a top tier VC and the other didnt.

But why?

You would think, if the best VC's have partners that have oeperational experince why dont other most VC's follow. There is not answer to this. Harry Stebbings has also rasied a multi million dollar fund with little operational experience.

What do you guys think? Which investors make the best VC's? Investors who understand the difficulty with building a startup or those without?

If you study linkedin at top tier VC's you can see a VC and its employees backgrounds. You are quickly able to see which have operational experience and which do not.
